Hello,
Just found out about MiniMIZE on the web, figured I would try it out to try to deal with an issue ive been having.
First of all let me explain my issue...
I play a game called World of Warcraft, multiplayer game. Well lately I have been having an issue where the game will freeze up and I am 99% of the time UNABLE to ALT+TAB out of the game to be able to shut the game off and restart it. So I have to hard reboot the computer....holding in power button to shut down.
Occassionally I AM able to ALT+TAB out fo the game and right click the bar on the bottom and select CLOSE to shut JUST the game down and restart. Which as you can imagine is preferable to having to totally restart the computer.
Well, the PREFERABLE thing is for the game not to freeze up in the first place..LOL
Anyway, I thought about it, and was curious to try to find and run an app that would FORCE the game to minimize by use of a hotkey. Thus my being here, and trying to use MiniMIZE.
Ok, so theres the history and why I want to use the app.
Heres the issue.....
I downloaded version 1.0.37 and installed it.
It does show up in my system tray by the clock....however, its NOT working.
I DID right click the icon and choose ACTIVATE, and the icon is blue...
I also went into the settings and the only change I made was to add F12 to HOTKEYS/MINIMIZE ALL WINDOWS.
Again, im trying to set up a hotkey that will force the game to minimize when it freezes up. Thus my trying to use F12 as that hotkey. Also be aware, i made sure there are no functions of the game that USE the F12 key currently....there WAS, but i unbound it.
Also, I even just tried to minimize internet explorer the same way...and it just isnt working.
Am I doing something wrong?>....do i need to ADD apps or browsers to a list or something?
I am using windows XP service pack...err...I know its atleast SP2....but might be SP 3 if there is such an update..LOL
ANY help is greatly appreciated.....
ALSO...
I noticed that MiniMIZE makes my antivirus/firewall go bezerk when I first launch it, saying that miniMIZE is trying to monitor keystrokes...well as you can imagine...this can sound suspicious.....can you ease my mind on this issue?
