Minimize and alternative shells? - 2005/09/11 11:57 Does Minimize need explorer set as the shell?
Minimize only works in Blackbox (alternative shell) after you install it and run from the installer. Close and reopen and it cant minimize anymore. Uninstall and install again and works until you close it.

Since it works with Blackbox the first you run it, Im really waiting for a workaround so I can enjoy it.

Excellent program!!!

Re:Minimize and alternative shells? - 2005/09/14 00:48 I'm glad you like miniMIZE.

There shouldn't be any major problems with miniMIZE and alternate shells, although there is currently a bug that stops the thumbnails from performing their "Flash Effect" with alternate shells.

I have used miniMIZE with Emerge Desktop and I know guys running it with GeoShell with no issues. If you're still having problems, let me know and I will see if I can reproduce it.

Re:Minimize and alternative shells? - 2005/09/14 20:24 I'm getting the same behavior. It fixes once you rightclick and fiddle with the thumbnail level, but then if you maximize and re-minimize it breaks again. Really odd.

Re:Minimize and alternative shells? - 2005/09/15 10:55 Ok, I downloaded blackbox to see what was going on. Seems they have a window which covers the normal desktop, so setting the thumbnails to 'always on bottom' (although it shouldn't work correctly) hides the thumbnails behind the desktop. You probably find the reason it works the first time, is that it is before you click on the blackbox desktop, from then on the thumbnails end up behind the blackbox desktop.

Unfortunately the default behaviour is always on bottom. For the next version I have changed this to Normal and you will be able to change that to any of the 3 which will be remembered.

So I guess, for now, it's going to be a matter of fiddling with the thumbnail level. Sorry.

Re:Minimize and alternative shells? - 2005/09/15 11:58 Even setting it to on top and re-minimizing "breaks" it. Or do you mean that when something is minimized it is automatically set to bottom? In that case it makes perfect sense. I was under the impression that the setings option dictated the state in which all current and future thumbnails were positioned in.

Re:Minimize and alternative shells? - 2005/10/05 15:59 I'm using the latest version from irc (1.0.3 i believe) and the bug with minimizing windows still persists. Changing the "default level" will bring minimized windows' thumbs up again but they'll disappear once you re-minimize.
