[REQ] THumbnail alignment on desktop. - 2005/09/06 00:43 Hey-ya!
A great piece of software you have there but there is one thing I do not really admire - the positioning of thumbnails.
They always show up starting from the top left corner of the screen and there is no setting to display them otherwise. I think it could be really useful to customize the thumbnail allignment - either top-right corner, top-left corner etc. The screenshotsa cover desktop icons which is very uncomfortable.
Could you make different snaps of allignent?

Re:[REQ] THumbnail alignment on desktop. - 2005/09/06 05:02 I second this request. I have given up on docks and i think this would be the ideal program for me. please make it align to right side of screen, bottom of screen, and try to make it resizable (so that there are not multiple rows) like in a dockj..i.e. one row of thumbnails only..

also, the always on top does not work.

i shall still use it though.

thanks

Re:[REQ] THumbnail alignment on desktop. - 2005/09/07 04:18 Thanks for the comments guys.

The main point about this beta was to get core functionality out into the wild. The feature list for the next few versions contains a number of features similar to what you are requesting. Mainly smarter positioning.

Re:[REQ] THumbnail alignment on desktop. - 2005/09/09 10:48 Just wanted to say outstanding app!

To add on to the comments made about icon positioning:

1) after closing an app, that icon's "space" is not "recovered"-- another icon does not seem to be able to "fill in" and take its space which leaves "holes" on the desktop.

2) icons are not generated for minimizing using the win+m combo or win+d

3) add a hotkey function to momentarily show or toggle "always on top"

Again, fantastic app! I realize as you have said that this version is just to show off core functionality and get the word out, and you may have already worked these features into the next version. I actually tried otaku's topdesk, and I think I prefer miniMIZE as it seams simpler, stabler, less flashy, and less resource hungry.
