So glad I found this! - 2006/01/28 03:36 Just discovered miniMIZE, installed it, and having enormous fun playing with it. Positioning of the thumbnails has to be worked out, but you seem to be on it already Did you think about an option to ignore those apps that are being minimized to tray? I put all those in the exclusion list - so far so good, but it might be easier to have such option. I'm wondering how it will co-exist with virtual desktops and multi-monitor setups, too ... will test some time soon.

BTW - have you seen Visual Tooltip at http://chsalmon.club.fr/index.html?

Re:So glad I found this! - 2006/01/30 00:13 Hi Zann,

thanks for the comments. The problem with applications that minimize to the tray is that I have no idea that they do. Unfortunately there is no way for me to determine if an application is going to be minimizing to the tray. The only thing to do is add them to the exclusion list.

Not sure how miniMIZE will work with virtual desktops, but it is designed to support multi-monitor setups.

I have seen visual tooltips. Looks like a cool app.

Re:So glad I found this! - 2006/01/30 12:56 Just to let you know, miniMIZE works just fine with XDesk for multiple desktops and with my two-monitor setup. I just drag the miniMIZED icons off to the right side of the screen to organize them. In XDesk, miniMIZED icons at the Normal level stay on the desktop where they were miniMIZED; if I set their level to Pin to Desktop they're visible on all my desktops.
